| yes mate thats more like it.Graham had me LMAO with hes magnet story today. He attracted several knives and forks from the cutlery draw ,stopped hes watch and wiped all data from the credit card plus a small car that was passing by the workshop had to be pulled from the front garden. What the magnets do is hold the two side flat so when you put the finishing strip on you get maximum bonding with the E6000.Tape is ok but for a proper job use the method shown in this thread. They seem to have done the trick mate and i can see you are a natural when it comes to armour building.these have been made to hes size which is 100% the way to go if you want your suit to look right.Ware the suit NOT let it ware you! | |

| Been working on me legs today so here's progress so far! As some of you know im quite small (5ft 7" and fairly slim) so i like to build my armour to fit me, while trying to keep the original look as much as possible Fitting the legs was a challenge with my AP suit and the TM is gonna be the same i think ... I started by getting the length of the Calf armour sorted, and therefore shortened both legs before sanding and profiling the bottom, to keep the correct shape .. | I then trimmed the front to the correct width ready for the finishing strip, again using the template's that i had made after Pete's tip! I then joined the two halfs at the front by holding them together with tape and Magnets, and then running Plastic Weld down the seam .. as before with the Arms. I then prepared the Finishing Strip, before attaching it to the front of the Shins with E6000, and keeping it held on tight with the Magnets while the glue set. | Next i cut the rear of the Calfs to size, for my small legs and made a 1" Finishing Strip .. I also wanted to cut out the top from the back of the Calfs, as it makes it easier to walk ... and also i like the look, as seen in some of the pictures of the Screen Used suits I then attached the Rear Finishing Strip to the Outside only of the Calfs, as the inside edge will have some thin velcro attached, just to keep them together and make them easier to get on and off Lastly i attached the Sniper Plate ... Instead of using Rivets which is the common way of attching the plate, i decided to Glue it on, as the Screen Used suits had it glued ... As usual all held together with E6000 and Magnets! ... Oh and as a little finishing touch, i wanted to have some Repair Tape on the Sniper Plate the same as my current AP Armour!! Lol [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Nice work with the tape I wonder how glueing the sniper knee plate will hold up on the 2mm armour as aposed to riveting? | |

| Well i used E6000 to glue the back of the Sniper Plate to the Finishing Strip, and the inside edge of the Sniper Plate to the main Calf. I then ran a bit of Plastic weld onto any edges that were making contact just to give it a bit of extra strength .... oh and of course the tape helps!!! Lol So we'll see what happens?! | |

| So onto the thighs! ... ( i can feel Billy's brow starting to sweat as he reads this! Lol) First things first ... i used my template and cut down the front to the correct width ... and taped the two halfs together to work out how wide i wanted them at the back ... i did this with 2 measurments ... i basically measured it to the size i wanted to fit me, and then adjusted it accordingly to allow the back of the Calf Armour to fit inside it if i bent down etc ... i then cut down the back to the width i wanted .. As the 2 halves now didnt match at the top (at the back), i cut of the corner off from the Outside Half of the Thigh and used my Modelling Iron to put a return edge back on and reshape the corner to match the two halfs together again .... i then sanded to it shape, and polished it out with Wet&Dry and Novus ... Then i cut the back of the knee out, as i did with the calfs, for mobility and looks ... I also used a hairydryer to heat up the Outside half and reshape it slightly where i had cut the back out, so the finishing strip on the back will now hopefully sit flatter and straight I then joined the front seam together with Poly Weld ...
